Loveliness

I have never been a huge fan of smoothies. I know that’s kind of weird, but usually they are too sweet and I’d prefer to eat the fruit rather than drinking it. But I think I’ve realized that I like them much better if they contain a savory element too, like arugula or parsley. And no added sugar.

There are some great smoothies in Antigua–and of course they are so photogenic!

While I’m at it, I’ll post a few photos of the lovely plants here:

The following is a photo of “La Reina de la Noche” (Queen of the night), a plant in our courtyard that blooms only at night.

And of course, because I just can’t get enough of the volcanos:

On the left is Volcan de Fuego, about 20 km from us, which erupts regularly. On the right is Volcan Acatenango which is dormant. This view is from our neighborhood. (photo credit to Willa)
This is Volcan de Agua, a dormant volcano to the south of Antigua.
