I think I’ve discovered my happy place! We live on the south side of town and just a short walk out of town is Caoba Farm, a wonderful organic farm with restaurant and a small store with a farmers market and other activities on weekends. They also have a mariposaria (butterfly habitat) and some farm animals, including chickens and bunnies. And Willa was overjoyed to discover that their playground has a trampoline. We think that Guatemala so far has great playgrounds! There are also volunteer opportunities for weeding and other gardening, so I think that once the girls get settled in school and I’m not in Spanish class, I will head down there and see what I can do.
